New publication

January 21, 2025

We have a new publication in collaboration with Judith Bovée and Noel de Miranda from Leiden University Medical Center as part of the Leiden Center for Computational Oncology. Debora conducted an immunogenomic analysis of 30 osteosarcoma samples from seven patients to understand immune responses during disease progression. She found that metastatic lesions exhibited increased cytotoxic T-cell activity and higher expression of cancer testis antigens, particularly from the MAGEA family, as compared to primary tumors. Her findings suggest that targeting MAGEA antigens could be a potential immunotherapeutic strategy for advanced osteosarcoma. For detailed information, see the publications section.

This figure highlights differences between primary tumors and first metastases in osteosarcoma. It includes A) a PCA plot showing sample clustering, B) a volcano plot of significantly altered genes, C) a heatmap grouping samples by immune activity, and D) a scatterplot comparing immune activity scores between paired samples.
