Teaching in Freiburg
On November 14, Marieke gave a seminar at the MeInBio program of the University of Freiburg, followed by a hands-on workshop, in which the students learned how to model gene regulatory networks and perform a comparative network analysis PANDA. It was a pleasure to work and discuss with the intelligent and motivated students from the program.

Familien Blix Award
Marieke received the Familien Blix Award for Outstanding Cancer Research on Oct 29. The award ceremony was held in the university's old festive hall and included moving talks by patients, the Norwegian Cancer Society, and representatives from the University of Oslo and Faculty of Medicine. The ceremony was accompanied by music by Tine Thing Helseth, and followed by a nice dinner.

We have a new BioRχiv pre-print by Ladislav, in which we present SPONGE, a new Python tool that simplifies generating up-to-date priors for gene regulatory network (GRN) modeling, boosting their reproducibility and accuracy.

New publication
We have a new publication together with Anthony Mathelier's group. In a letter to the editors of Bioinformatics, we explain how our teams setup a collaborative environment to teach each other concepts of software quality and to review each other's code, with the aim of improving the team's overall knowledge of how to build good quality software.

Sara joins the lab
We are excited to announce that Sara Palomino Echeverría has joined the group as NORPOD postdoctoral fellow. Sara received her PhD from the University of Navarrra, Spain, where she focused on patient stratification and omics analysis in acutely decompensated cirrhosis.
