We have a new BioRχiv pre-print by Patrick, focused on single-sample network modeling to better understand the complex transcriptional changes in lung cancer. Patrick reconstructed patient-specific gene co-expression networks (GCNs) for 334 individuals using LIONESS on mutual information networks. This revealed six new LUAD subtypes, each with unique biological features. Further analysis identified 12 key genes whose network patterns were linked to patient survival. Patrick's findings highlight the potential of SSN-based approaches to offer new insights into LUAD’s behavior and inform future research."
